What Peachtree City does to a window

Peachtree City was planned in the 1950s as a set of villages in the Fayette County pine woods, and the trees were the point. Kedron, Braelinn, Glenloch, Aberdeen and Wilksmoor all sit under tall loblolly pines, with more than a hundred miles of cart paths running through the woods between them. Those pines are the first thing the glass deals with. In late March and April they drop a yellow coat of pollen that lies on every window, sill and screen in the city, and the pine needles that come down the rest of the year collect in the tracks and gutters. Homes on Lake Peachtree, Lake Kedron and Lake McIntosh pick up a morning mist off the water that pulls the pollen down onto the lakeside glass.

Then the sprinklers come on. Nearly every yard in Peachtree City is irrigated, and the fairways at Flat Creek, Braelinn and Planterra Ridge are watered most mornings from spring through September. The overspray hits the lower panes on the course side of the house every day and leaves a line of mineral spots that builds month over month. Under the pines the north and east sides of the houses stay shaded and damp through the humid months, and the glass and screens grow a green film by August. Afternoon thunderstorms throw needles and grit at the windows all summer, and the sweetgums and oaks mixed in with the pines drop into the gutters from October into November.

A quarterly plan suits most Peachtree City homes, with the inside glass done once a year, and many customers add a visit right after the April pollen. Fairway homes at Flat Creek, Braelinn and Planterra Ridge and the lake lots on Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron often go to every two months through the irrigation season. The houses in Kedron, Planterra Ridge and the newer Wilksmoor sections have two-story foyers and great-room glass facing the woods or the course, and we clean them with water-fed poles from the ground and ladders where needed. We work each village on its own day, work the whole street in one pass, and send a text the morning of each visit so nobody has to wait at home.

Peachtree City window cleaning questions

How much does window cleaning cost in Peachtree City?

First-clean pricing varies by home size and service package. A first cleaning, inside and out, is $259 for a home up to 2,000 square feet, $329 for 2,000 to 3,500 square feet, and $429 for larger homes on our Silver package. After that, a quarterly maintenance plan runs $60, $77, or $100 a month for those same home sizes. Lakefront and estate homes get a custom quote.

How often should windows be cleaned in Peachtree City?

Quarterly keeps the pine pollen, needles and shade mildew under control for most Peachtree City homes, with the spring visit timed for right after the April pollen. Fairway homes at Flat Creek, Braelinn and Planterra Ridge and lake lots on Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron pick up sprinkler spots and mist film faster and often go to every two months from May through September. Most people have the inside glass done once a year.

Can you keep pine needles out of the tracks and gutters?

Yes. Pine needles are the main thing we pull out of window tracks and gutters in Peachtree City, and they hold water against the frame and the fascia when they sit. We clear the tracks on every visit, and the gutter plan at $25 a month has us clear the gutters, flush the downspouts and haul the needles away on a schedule timed for the spring drop and the fall.

Can you reach the glass on the lake side of the house?

Yes. Most homes on Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron have a wall of glass facing the water over a walkout basement or a sloped yard, and we clean it with water-fed poles from the ground or the dock and use ladders only where the footing is safe. Tell us the number of stories on the water side on the quote form so we bring the right equipment.
